I did something that I haven’t done for a very long time, in fact so long that I can’t remember the last time I did this. Not having to go out today I chose to use my dressing gown for the whole day. I didn’t have to go out so I figured that I may as well. It’s warm and comfortable and I realised that I don’t use it often enough. Obviously I’m not talking about wearing it all day more regularly, but I certainly should use it more. What I didn’t do though is totally waste the day, getting a load of stuff sorted, tidied and thrown out in the study to make it a more useable space.
With the improved weather and most of the major garden tasks completed, it’s time that I start enjoying the garden rather than just working in it. For me, part of that is what I call hammock time. Once the daily tasks are done and I can relax, it’s time to chill out and I do that best in the hammock. I’ve always found them comfortable and can often doze off in it, as I did today. It’s size means it’s not easy to move and it will now stay out until the weather turns in late September / October where it will go back into storage to help protect it from the elements.
It’s the end of what has been quite a draining week. There has been lots of stuff going on and by the time I got home on Friday I was ready to relax. For the first time this year there was still enough warmth in the day (admittedly with a jumper and jacket on) to get a garden chair out, sit and watch the sun go down while enjoying a glass of wine. I’m hopeful that this will not be the last time I’m sitting out enjoying the weather!
